Understanding Thermographic Reports

Accessing the Thermographic reports

To access the Thermographic reports, there are 3 ways to access them:
  1. Portfolio dashboard: Latest reports section
    1. On the Portfolio Dashboard, scroll down to the Latest Reports section
    2. There is a column that displays report type, and any Thermographic reports will show up
    3. To access the solar plant landing page, click on the link under Solar plant column.
  1. Solar plant landing page: Reports section
    1. Click "View All" at the top of the section will lead to the Reports page
  2. Reports page listed in left menu so can be accessed there
This video shows where to find the reports.

General functionality

This report has the tools on top that apply to the entire Thermographic report.

The report date

This is the publish date of the report is located in the upper left corner of the report.

Advanced filter

When the Advanced filter button is clicked, a modal pops up allowing filter criteria to be selected.

  1. The following filter data is:
    1. Anomaly number: An internal number given to the anomaly, visible in the right hand drawer or in the List tab
    2. Anomaly type: The dropdown will display the anomaly types found during analysis. This page displays a full explanation of anomaly types.
    3. Root cause: The dropdown will display the root causes found during analysis. This page displays a full explanation of root causes
    4. ΔTm: The measured temperature gradient of an anomaly (peak temperature of the anomaly minus reference temperature from a neighbouring, normal panel)
    5. EC: Corrected Irradiance. Irradiance, E, measures the strength of sunlight falling on the photovoltaic modules, as measured using a pyranometer on the drone.
    6. ΔTn: Temperature gradient normalized to a standard irradiance of 1000 W/m²
    7. Date: The date reported by the camera at the time the image was captured
    8. String name: This displays the string name so the group of modules related to that string can be identified
    9. Serial number: The unique number given to that module by the manufacturer
    10. Table name: The naming of the table, either by Above or the client
    11. Resolved: This allows a search for either resolved or unresolved anomalies
  2. This tool allows adding multiple search criteria by using the AND/OR operators
    1. The AND narrows your search to contain all chosen filter criteria, while OR broadens your search by including results that contain any of the filter criteria
  3. The "Advanced search" button changes from green to white when the filter is applied
  4. The data, charts, map view and list view will change when the relevant filters are applied
    1. The text for the "Technical summary and analysis" area of the Dashboard remains independent of any filters, meaning the text stays the same whether the filter is applied or not
    2. Exports and Sharing functionality is not affected when the Advanced filter is applied

Exports

The exports function is located in the upper right corner of the page. The dropdown options are as follows:
  1. Export as PDF (summary)
    1. This report gives a summary of anomalies only. This report requires processing so will be send to your email.
  2. Export as PDF (all anomalies)
    1. This report shows the list of all anomalies and can be a big report. This report requires processing so will be send to your email.
  3. Export as CSV
    1. This report lists all anomalies in comma separated values (CSV) so it can easily be opened/imported into Excel for your reporting needs
  4. Export images as ZIP
    1. All the thermographic and RGB images are grouped by 100 in separate ZIP folders. The image names match the anomaly numbers in the list view.

Sharing

The sharing feature is displayed for the commissioning organisation only. Any "interest" organisations, set up at the time of requesting this report, will appear in the dropdown. This video walks through how to share a report:

Any interest organisations will appear in the dropdown. Access levels are:
  1. Editor: User can do everything as View only, plus edit or resolve the anomaly
    1. Any individual in the commissioning organisation has Editor rights plus sharing capabilities
  2. View only: User can view report, add to tasks and export the report
Sharing is not affected by the Advanced filter, so when sharing a Thermographic report, the entire report is shared.

Dashboard tab

This tab displays the following:
  1. Statistics about anomalies and modules
  2. A customised technical summary
  3. Anomaly type / Root cause chart
  4. Anomaly groups chart
  5. Temperature analysis chart
For details, please click on the Dashboard page

Map tab

This tab gives users a clear, visual way to understand inspection results. Instead of just reading a list of anomalies, they can:
  1. See the exact location of defects on the site map, down to string or module level
  2. Prioritise repairs by spotting clusters of anomalies or patterns in certain areas
  3. Compare thermal and RGB imagery in the right drawer, helping to validate issues
For more details, click on the Map and List page.

List tab

This tab displays a table view of all anomalies. Like the map, it has the same right hand drawer when clicking on each row.

For more details, click on the Map and List page.

The first column allows for multi-selection by sorting the columns or using the Advanced filter to find the anomalies.

Documents tab

This tab displays any marketing images taken at time of flight for use in your reporting.  This page has a file hierarchy feature with it's own download button. You can select one or all of the images by using the checkboxes.

Here is an example of the image:

This video explains further what the marketing images are. Above refers to the images as "pretties".
