Understanding the Portfolio Dashboard

Overview

The Portfolio Dashboard is the first page you see when logging into SolarGain.

The page aggregates the solar plants information, reports, tasks and observations in which you have permission to view or edit (depending on your access levels). Each area has a separate section with summary data and charts. Our product specialists have collated a list of questions and answers in Portfolio Dashboard FAQ page to supplement this overview page.

This page displays an overview of each section:
  1. Portfolio Overview
  2. Reports & Activity
  3. Tasks Management
  4. Construction Progress
  5. Manufacturer Performance
  6. Anomaly Statistics
The main purpose of the Portfolio Dashboard is to allow you to see all the information in one place. This is especially helpful if you only want to focus on, for example, the latest active task lists. Each section of this page is meant to streamline navigation to target the most urgent issues efficiently.

Filter the page

If you want to just see data from a specific region, for example, the Advanced filter is a helpful tool. Click on the Advanced filter button at the top of the page. You can select:
  1. Shared with: Choose the organisation(s) that reports, tasks, and observations have been shared with
  2. Commissioned by: Choose the organisation that commissioned the reports
  3. PRO site: Choose to view PRO or non-PRO sites
  4. Region: Choose solar plants by region
  5. Country: Choose solar plants by country
  6. Task state: This displays open or closed tasks. This is useful in the Tasks Management section only.

Please note that all of the Advanced filters in SolarGain have the "AND/OR" feature which allows a refined search of multiple criteria. If you use this search, and it returns 0 data, try to switch the "AND/OR" button next to the dropdown in the Advanced filter pop up.

See more detail

Each chart will present more information when hovering over it. Each image in this page shows examples of the hover data for each chart.

For more information, each box, list or chart has the capability to "Drill down to detail" which will list detailed information. Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of any box and select "Drill to detail". Upon clicking, specific detail is listed in a pop up window. You can navigate further if there is a hyperlink in the list.

Download information from the page

All charts can be Exported as CSV's by clicking on the dropdown in the upper right corner of the page. They will emailed to the logged in person's email. This may take a few minutes as generating the report requires additional processing in the background.

Once the email arrives, the Download button link will be valid for 7 days. Upon clicking the button, the file will download as a "ZIP" file (i.e. a compressed folder) onto your hard drive, containing the CSV file. The CSV file can be opened in Excel.

There is also a download functionality which allows each box or chart to be downloaded as a JPEG image. This can also be accessed by clicking the 3 dots in the corner of each box.

The output will be a JPEG that looks exactly like the chart and legend for use in your reporting.

Portfolio Overview

The portfolio overview shows information that could apply to any solar plant, regardless of the products and services requested.

Each of the boxes on top list summary information for the portfolio:

  1. Total Sites: This is the total number of solar plants in portfolio
  2. PRO Sites: This lists the number of solar plants that have the full site digitalisation service
  3. Total MW: Total megawatts for portfolio
  4. Total Reports: This is the number of reports that have been published within the timeframe selected on top of the page (it defaults to a year)
  5. Task Lists: This is the number of all active task lists
  6. Active Users: Lists all active users within your organisation
The top charts displayed:
  1. Modules per Manufacturer: This lists all module manufacturers in the portfolio and when drilling to detail, will display which solar plants they reside on
  2. Solar Plant Age: Based on commissioning date, this will track the number of solar plants, including MW. If there is data in the "Unknown age" area, it means that commissioning date has not been added.

The lists displayed:
  1. Latest Reports: This list displays all the latest reports, sorted by latest publish date
  2. Serial Number Scanning Update: This list displays the latest serial numbers, sorted  by latest scanned date. It shows the number and % complete for both modules and other components that require serial number collection.

Tasks Management

The task list tool is offered to every user of the SolarGain platform. It is used in the entire solar plant lifecycle and offers powerful tracking and reporting capabilities.
  1. Task List Summary: This chart displays the solar plant with the number of tasks with the relevant statuses (to do, in progress, resolved, failed, on hold, tracking). This includes both an open and closed state. The state can be filtered in the Advanced filter (i.e. show all open or closed tasks)
  2. Task Updates: This list shows that latest task list, sorted by last updated. It also shows number of subtasks (used for checklists) and other vital information. This allows you to quickly find the latest tasks or most important tasks in one place.

Anomaly Statistics

These charts are populated after a Thermographic report have been published. The first 2 charts show anomaly group data with numbers and percentages:
  1. Anomaly Groups: This pie chart shows the proportion of anomalies in the anomaly groups in the portfolio. The anomaly groups were determined by Above, after gaining client feedback.
  2. Anomaly Group by Site: This chart lists all solar plants, displaying the anomaly groups per site.

The next charts focus on anomaly types and root causes of the thermographic reports:
  1. Anomaly Types and Root Causes: The chart shows the number and % of root causes per anomaly type
  2. Root Cause Analysis by Site: This chart shows the % of anomalies and root causes per solar plant

This chart will typically require longer than a year as it compares 2 different Thermographic charts. The trend in the past has been for Thermographic surveys to be done once a year so this chart might not display much data if the date setting is a year or less.
  1. Sites with Persisting and Evolving Anomalies: This chart compares one Thermographic report to the previous one. Persisting calculates the anomalies that still exist (i.e. have not changed) in the 2 reports. Evolving anomalies would occur if the anomaly transforms from one anomaly type to a more severe anomaly type.
