Portfolio Dashboard FAQs

Portfolio Dashboard FAQs

What is the Portfolio Dashboard page?

The Portfolio Dashboard page is a highly improved feature in SolarGain that provides a clear overview of all the information and activity stored against all the solar plants of your portfolio. This aggregated view will save you time and allow you to focus your effort on the most pressing solar plants of your portfolio.

The Portfolio Dashboard page is now the "Landing page" of SolarGain, meaning that you will access it immediately after logging in. It can also be accessed at any time from the left-hand navigation bar.

What are the main sections of the Portfolio Dashboard page?

The Portfolio Dashboard is split into 6 main areas:
  1. Portfolio Overview
  2. Reports & Activity
  3. Tasks Management
  4. Construction Progress
  5. Manufacturer Performance
  6. Anomaly Statistics
The different areas of the page can be accessed by scrolling down the page.

How can I navigate to another part of the portal from the Portfolio Dashboard page?

The Portfolio Dashboard page has links to various other pages in the portal. In most of the charts you will have hyperlinks that will take you to solar plants, reports or task lists. You can also access the solar plant you require by clicking on Solar Plants in the left menu and enter directly from that page.

How can I prioritise my work when I have multiple reports to look at?

One this page, there is a report section. This video walks you through the features.

Features & Functionality

Can I apply a filter on the whole page?

The Portfolio Dashboard page has an Advanced Filter in the top right corner, like most other pages on SolarGain.

The Advanced Filter on the Portfolio Dashboard allows you to filter on the following data points:
  1. Shared with - filters the page based on which companies have been shared reports/task lists
  2. Commissioned by - filters the page based on who has paid (commissioned) an inspection service
  3. PRO site - filters the page by PRO sites (Yes or No)
  4. Region - filters the page based on the regions associated to the solar plants
  5. Country - filters the page based on the countries associated to the solar plants
  6. Task state - filters the page based on the state of tasks (Open or Closed)

Can I see the information from the last month only?

Yes, absolutely. The Portfolio Dashboard has a date range filter in the top right hand corner, similarly to other pages in SolarGain. It defaults to year but has flexibility to filter by other dates too.

This date range filters allows you to filter the whole page either by:
  1. All - No date filter
  2. Today
  3. Week - Monday to "Today"
  4. Month - 1st of the Month to "Today"
  5. Year - 1st of January of the Year to "Today
  6. Custom - Any date range you want

How can I see a breakdown of one of the table or charts?

For each of the charts/graphs/tables on the Portfolio Dashboard, you can get access to a table breakdown ("Drill to detail") by clicking on the   icon on the top right corner of the chart area.

This functionality allows you to have a table breakdown of the chart you are looking at.

Is it possible to filter each chart/graph individually?

Yes, absolutely. Each chart allows individual filters for charts/graphs. The filters are visible at the bottom of each chart and can be used by clicking on the coloured boxes.

There are 2 additional buttons:
  1. All - Turns on all categories on (turning off all filters)
  2. Inv - Inverts the filters, applies the opposite filters to what was applied before

Can I expand one of the charts to see it in full screen?

For each of the charts/graphs/tables on the Portfolio Dashboard, you can get access to a full screen view by clicking on the   icon on the top right corner of the chart area.

Troubleshooting

Why aren't all of my sites/reports visible on the page?

Please check the filters (Advanced Filter and date range tool) to ensure that they are not being too restrictive. In the scenario below, you can reset the Advanced Filter by clicking (x) on the button or increase the date range.

Why don't all charts filter when I apply an "Advanced Filter"?

The criteria of the Advanced Filter do not all apply to all the charts. Here is a table summarising which filters will apply to which charts:

Why do I have "generic" module manufacturers?

The "Generic" module manufacturer is used whenever we do not have any information about the module manufacturer in our database. If you have this in your Portfolio Dashboard, please do not hesitate to get in touch with all the missing information.

You will soon be able to update this information directly on SolarGain, in our brand new "Admin Centre" page which will be released in Q3 2025.

Why do I have sites with "Unknown age" on the "Solar Plant Age" chart?

The Solar Plant Age chart will show columns for "Unknown age" whenever there hasn't been any "Commissioning date" assigned to solar plants. If you have this in your Portfolio Dashboard, please do not hesitate to get in touch with all the missing information.

You will soon be able to update this information directly on SolarGain, in our brand new "Admin Centre" page which will be released in Q3 2025.
