Overview
What can I do in the Admin Centre as an Admin?
As a user with an Admin role, you can manage your organisation’s
solar plants, regions, and users directly within the Admin Centre, without needing to contact Above Surveying. You can also view your organisation’s details, manage alert preferences, and update your password.
What’s the difference between Admin and Standard users?
Admin users can / Standard users cannot:
- Manage solar plants
- Manage regions (customised grouping)
- Manage users (add or edit)
- Edit company information
All users can:
- Update their own password, alert preferences, and manage cookie preferences
- View organisational information
What can I see in the Admin Centre if I’m not an Admin?
If you’re not an Admin, you’ll still have access to key information relevant to you:
- Your organisation’s details and primary contact
- Above’s privacy policy
- Above’s support email and contact information
- Change password options
- Alert preferences
- Manage cookie preferences
- Measurement unit preferences for the Development & Construction progress reports, either metres or feet
- You will not see the three management cards at the top (Solar Plants, Regions, Users)
How can I change my password?
- Go to Change Password in the Admin Centre menu.
- You’ll be prompted to enter your current password and then create a new one.
- Passwords must meet Above’s security criteria and will take effect immediately.
How can I update my alert preferences?
Change Alert Preferences from the Admin Centre menu. You can choose which notifications you receive for email alerts:
- Receive published survey alert emails
- Receive news and update emails about Above services
Changes are saved when clicking on the “Save alert preferences” button
For any issues or queries, please submit a ticket below or contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM).
Where can I find Above’s privacy policy?
The Privacy Policy link is available from the Admin Centre’s main page in the “Privacy” section. It outlines how Above Surveying collects, stores, and manages your data.
How do I know what solar plants are in my portfolio and what other organisations have access?
This solar plant list can be accessed in the
Manage Solar Plants page in the Admin Centre. From there, you can:
- View solar plants to your organisation’s portfolio
- Share access with other organisations
- When you give another organisation access to a solar plant, it appears immediately in the organisations Solar Plants page
Please visit
this page for more information on managing solar plants.
What are Regions and how do I manage them?
Regions help you group solar plants by geography or operational boundaries (e.g. “Northern Spain” or “West UK”). Admins in your organisation can create and name regions that make sense for your business by going to the Admin Centre and clicking on the Regions card (or left menu link).
In this section, regions are given a name, and the solar plants are added. Solar plants are restricted by country. Admins can only create a country-based region, rather than a group of countries e.g. Southern Europe. Regions do not need to be given only geographical names. This is a way to group to customise a group of solar plants in the same country.
Regions are unique to each organisation, so you can customise them without affecting other clients.
What happens if I delete or rename a region?
Admins can rename, reassign or remove solar plants to an existing region from the Manage Regions page. Removing solar plants from a region does not delete the solar plants.
Rules for deleting a region from Manage Regions page: If there are users tied to a region, they must be removed from that region
first (in the
Manage Users page)
before deleting the overall region. You will get an error message if there are still users attached.
Please visit
this page for more information on managing regions.
How do I add or manage users within my organisation?
Go to
Manage Users in the Admin Centre. From there, you can:
- Add new users by entering their name, email and access level
- Each new user automatically receives a welcome email with a temporary password and setup instructions.
- Choose whether they are Admin users or standard users
- Choose for them to be active or inactive
- Customised access: Grant access to all solar plants, or restrict access by country, region, or individual solar plant
- This helps to display only the solar plants that matter most to each user
Can I restrict a user’s access to certain solar plants only?
Yes. In Manage Users, when adding or editing a user, select "Limited access" instead of "All". You can then search by country, region, or individual solar plant to assign specific access. Users will only see solar farms they’ve been permissioned for.
Why have certain users been deactivated?
If any user has not logged into SolarGain for 12 months, they are automatically deactivated in the system. They can be reactivated by selecting the user and clicking on the "Active" button.
Please visit
this page for more information on managing users.
