Bug reporting: How to record screen on iPhone and Android

Reporting a Bug in SolarGain Mobile

We work hard to make SolarGain Mobile reliable and easy to use. If you encounter a bug, providing clear and detailed information helps our team diagnose and fix the issue as quickly as possible.
Please include as much of the information below as you can when submitting a bug report.

Information We Need From You

When reporting a bug, please tell us:
  1. Device details
    1. Device type (e.g. iPhone model or Android phone model)
    2. Operating system version (iOS or Android)
  2. Area of the app
    1. Which screen, feature, or workflow you were using when the issue occurred
  3. Steps taken
    1. A step-by-step description of what you did before the problem appeared
  4. Expected result
    1. What you expected to happen
  5. Actual result
    1. What actually happened instead (including any error messages)
  6. Date and time
    1. The approximate date and time the issue occurred
A screenshot or, ideally, a screen recording that shows the issue being reproduced is extremely helpful. This often allows us to identify the problem much faster than a written description alone.
Below are instructions for creating a screen recording on most modern devices.

Helpful Tips

  1. Android version requirement: The built-in screen recorder is available on Android 11 and later.
  2. Samsung devices: Some Samsung phones allow you to:
    1. Add a front-facing camera (selfie video)
    2. Draw on the screen while recording
  3. App restrictions: Some apps may block audio or video recording due to system or copyright restrictions.
