After selecting
the desired PV plant, by using the Menu options at the bottom, select Serial
Number on the bottom right to open the scanning process section. This feature is only available for PV plants with PRO version.
How to scan serial numbers?
Scanning Pattern
On first selection, the User is requested to select a preferred Scanning Pattern to use during the PV module serial number scanning process. Select an option to preview and when ready select Start.
On the other hand, the user is also requested to set expected serial number length, which will provide a greater level of data quality control for the scanning process. This can be done in two different ways, either by dragging or typing the desired range of length.
These two features can be changed later in the settings options, located on the top right corner.
Table Selection
After setting up the scanning pattern, the map of the PV plant will pop up. Drag the map to the desired Table Location.
Press GPS button to refresh User location shown as a pulsing blue icon on
map.
Map Status
Tables in the map have different colours representing scanning status.
- Blue: Tables that have no module serial numbers scanned.
Orange: Tables that have some (but not all) modules serial numbers scanned.
- Green: Tables that have had all the modules serial numbers scanned.
Scanning Process
Once you have selected a table, the scanning process starts.
- Starting Point: Select preferred starting point (North-West, North-East, South-West or South-East) to begin the PV module serial number scanning process. You can select each option to preview and when ready select Start.
- Scan Table: After selecting start, a new window will pop up, showing the selected table split in several rectangles representing each of the modules within the table.
Below each of the functionalities described:
- Navigation: Use the screen to select the required module or use the nearby arrows of the "Scan" button to move to the Next or Previous Module as desired.
- Colour meaning: Modules display up to three different colors.
- Red: When the scanned serial number does not match the serial number parameters within the Settings section.
- Green: When the scanned serial number is within the parameters.
- White: When the module has not been scanned yet.
- Automatic Scan: When automatic scanning is
ON, SolarGain Mobile will automatically move to
the next module (1 second later) after any
edit is made. It is switched on by toggling the button in the top right corner, so it becomes green.
- Scanning with mobile camera: Click the "Scan" button and place your camera over the barcode.
- Scanning with a third-party Bluetooth scanner: Tap on any module or turn on the automatic scan and then press the scanning gun, the barcode will show up in the green empty box below the "Scan" button. LINK.
- Finish the process: Select Save or Cancel to save or abandon current scanning progress.
